RMA welcomes physician Dr. Kara Nguyen
HARRISBURG, PA (August 5, 2013) – Kara Nguyen, MD, joined RMA of Central Pennsylvania at PinnacleHealth this month. Dr. Nguyen works with a team of full-time reproductive endocrinologists who provide basic consultations, fertility evaluations, high success-rate in vitro fertilization (IVF), and advanced reproductive surgical procedures without the need to travel outside the Central Pennsylvania area.
Dr. Nguyen received her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College and Masters in Public Health at the Johns Hopkins University. During her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Christiana Care Hospital, she received awards for excellence in teaching and research.
She completed a subspecialty fellowship in Clinical Genetics at the National Institutes of Health and　a second subspecialty fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School. Her research in infertility and stem cells is funded by the National Institutes of Health and New England Fertility Society. This unique training makes her one of only a handful of physicians in the world who have this specialized expertise.
She was recognized as the first OB/GYN accepted into the prestigious Clinical Investigator Training Program of Harvard Catalyst. She has also served on the Committee on Genetics for the American College of OB/GYNs and an active member of ASRM.
