How would you live your last days?
How would you want to live your last days if you knew death was approaching? It’s a question posed to listeners on WITF’s Public Insight Network (PIN) recently.
The answers we got were thoughtful and fascinating.
Most people wrote they would like to die at or near their homes.
The conversation was prompted by WITF’s Summer Read, Being Mortal by Atul Gawande. In this book Gawande suggests that the status quo about death is being questioned and that doctors are learning that many people aren’t willing to fight an illness that they know they cannot beat.
