Women: Make a Date Every 8
Make a Date Every 8 encourages women to focus on their health on the 8th day of each month.
HARRISBURG, Pa. (May 6, 2013) — PinnacleHealth is launching “Make a Date Every 8,” a program dedicated to encouraging women to focus on their health on the 8th day of each month. The program begins Wednesday, May 8, 2013.
Via text messaging, Twitter, Pinterest and Facebook, healthcare experts from PinnacleHealth will provide tips on various topics ranging from breast health and gynecological issues to managing stress and choosing the right healthcare professional.
The format is intended to be informative and fun in order to engage women in making time for themselves and their own health.
Lisa Torp, MD, PinnacleHealth Breast Surgeon, said,“We’re asking women, ‘When is the last time you spent some time that made you feel special? How long has it been since you’ve taken a break to feel good and maybe even learn something new?’ Not only are we asking, but we’re providing encouragement and resources for women to make the time for their health and wellness.”
Women can visit pinnaclehealth.org/8 and sign up for free text messages with health information and reminders. Women can also text the word “DATE” to 69866 to start receiving valuable health tips.
“We are launching this important initiative encouraging women to make a personal commitment to their health, as well as set an example for the ones they love,” sharesSandra Costa, DO, family physician, PinnacleHealth Medical Group.
“Many times our own health and wellness takes a backseat to our families. Yet, if we are unwell physically or emotionally, we can’t be our best for our loved ones.”
This program encourages women to make a personal commitment to their health.
