Fentanyl is 50 to 100 times more powerful than heroin.

Fentanyl overdoses have been confirmed in at least 15-counties statewide, including five overdoses and one death in Lebanon County.

The prescription painkiller is being sold as – or laced with – heroin, but it’s actually 50 to 100 times more powerful than the illicit drug.

Thursday’s Radio Smart Talk discussesthe fentanyl problemand the latest efforts to combat the sale and use of synthetic drugs across the commonwealth.

Our guests will be Cumberland County District Attorney David Freed, who was just elected president of the Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association, and Nina Hamilton, who lost two siblings to drug overdoses.
