(Reading) — A Berks County group is among three in Pennsylvania to win federal money to increase access to health care.

Berks Community Health is getting $650,000 to set up a clinic, as part of a nationwide grant that totals $101 million.

Health centers funded through the program provide care based on household income, even for those without insurance.

The federal Department of Health and Human Services estimates Pennsylvania’s three health centers will increase access to health care for more than 11,000 people.

A recent bill approved by Congress extends funding for health centers through 2017.
