Earth Day 2013: What a wonderful world

Today is Earth Day. This is a great time to celebrate the beautiful places that we live, and re-dedicate ourselves to taking good care of the health of our Earth.

“We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.” -Native American Proverb

Below are 10 ideas to help get your creative juices flowing about how you can get involved in Central Pennsylvania today. And, you’ll have some fun and get some exercise at the same time!

Earth Day 2013

1. Plant a tree.

2. Build a bird house.

3. Plant a vegetable garden.

4. Attend an Earth Day eventnear you.

5. Find an outdoor activity that the kids will love.

6. Find a trail in PA and take the family on a hike.

7. Go birdwatching.

8. And, don’t forget to enjoy a picnic outside!

9. Explore a cave.

10. Bike ride on a Rail Trail or kayak on a water trail.
