Tune in to HealthSmart: Time for Health on Sept. 26th.

Today, more than a third of United States adults are obese and according to the Centers for Disease Control, childhood obesity has more than doubled in the past thirty years.

When you look at the statistics, change may seem overwhelming. We live busy lives and the healthy choice isn’t always the fast or easy choice. The good news is many communities, workplaces and schools are recognizing the fact that small steps can make a difference.

On HealthSmart: Time for Health we’ll show you how communities are becoming more walkable. How workplaces are making healthy changes to their cafeteria menus. How schools are increasing physical activity even when budgets are tight. Plus, how one Mechanicsburg family works healthy choices into a busy schedule.

Learn how to do an ergonomic makeover of your workspace in the video below. Dana Pease is the Safety Coordinator at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. She helps employees do ergonomic makeovers on the workspaces.

A desk job doesn’t have to hold you back from better health. Jonelle Faust, an exercise physiologist from Penn State Hershey Medical Center, offers tips on exercising in your workspace in the video below.
